Qubic Carpentry Solutions, are a family-run business based in South Birmingham that offers quality workmanship and has a meticulous approach to detail. As a carpentry specialist, they major in high-end bespoke home renovations focussing on kitchens and bathrooms. They have a high standard of work and offer a professional service throughout all of their projects. Qubic aren’t all about show home looks, they create beautiful spaces to be lived in and loved.
Identifying the problem
Because of Qubic’s excellent craftsmanship most of their work has been through referral. This of course is a great sign of a company going in the right direction, but this can come at the cost of not being proactive with marketing and sales. Qubic had wanted to expand its offering to target two different areas. Firstly they wanted to increase their geographic reach to other areas of high-paying customers in need of bespoke installations, but Qubic also understood the need for mid-range work, like ready-made kitchen fitting, that could be arranged around the longer, more detailed bespoke work.
The website wasn’t helping the effort to diversify, with a website that was hard to edit and update, had a confusing user journey, and was overly technical in its wording.
There were also problems with their branding which had become dated and inconsistent. This had meant that gaining new clients outride of referrals was a much harder job than it should have been.
The Research Phase
Our first job was to run a content audit of the site to identify the reason why their traffic had dropped. It was determined that the website had a very low level of keywords. We then did keyword research to identify the keywords that potential clients were using. Utilising Google Analytics we had a good overview of what content website visitors were interested in and where there were problems. We also conducted an industry and competitor analysis to better understand where the market was and where Qubic fitted into it.
From our research we mapped out new page content and a better user journey through the website, ensuring each page was focused on answering the right questions at the right time and driving visitors to action.
The New Brand
Whilst the research phase for the website was happening we also tackled the company branding which required updating. Taking all that we had learned from the industry and competitor analysis and adding in the values of Qubic we came up with a new brand style that included a modern, vibrant logo that centred around the idea of home renovation whilst still leaning into the excellent craftsmanship Qubic are known for. New font and colour styles complemented the look which could be used across all media.
Armed with the new copy, user journey and branding we began the design phase of the website. Beginning with wireframes, the layout was planned to ensure information was delivered in a well structured way, slowly drawing the user further in to the decision making process. The site design leaned heavily on showing off the quality work Qubic do and how they are able to work to any spec.
Bright colours, bold fonts and clean spacing ensured the eye is drawn to key areas, client testimonials case studies and google reviews were added to the site to further increase the proof of the quality work carried out on a regular basis. The site is optimised for smaller screens and the structure adapts around the users screen size ensuring a good user experience no matter what device the website visitor was accessing the site on.
The Results
It was a pleasure working with Qubic CS to match their branding and website to the quality craftmanship they produce. The brand and site have helped increase enquiry rate and has broadened their scope of work to ensure longevity for the company.
